In Asia mooncakes are sweet pastries exchanged during special
celebrations, like the famous Autumn Moon Festival in September,
where the full moon shines radiantly in the sky. These round
treats symbolize good health, peace and prosperity. Children
love mooncakes which often have tiny notes inside carrying
glad tidings and good fortune.
According to Chinese legend Chang O, the
Moon Lady, lives in the moon with her fluffy white rabbit
and appears only when the moon is full, she grants special
wishes once a year to moon gazers who send her their secret
requests. Make a special wish next time you see the full
moon, Chang O is waiting to hear from you!
(Mooncakes founder Mary Morrison
made baby wishes and has been blessed with two wonderful little boys. Thank you Moon Lady Chang O!
